Map of Residency Restrictions for Sex Offenders
Purpose of this map

Iowa Code Chapter 692A-Sex Offender Registry restricts certain persons from residing within 2000 feet of child care facilities and schools. This interactive map is provided as a service for individuals who wish to determine where they can legally establish residency.

How to use the map

To search for a specific address or parcel number, click on the appropriate icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the map. If choosing by address, a portion of the address may be entered; all addresses with a match will be displayed. If choosing by parcel number, the full parcel number must be entered.

The two thousand feet residency restriction is depicted in solid yellow. The selected parcel will be outlined in cyan. If yellow appears underneath the parcel (in full OR in part) and/or if yellow directly surrounds the parcel, it falls within the 2000 feet restriction and IS NOT a valid place of occupancy for an individual required to register pursuant to Iowa Code Chapter 692A.

Statutory exceptions are not reflected in the map.
