Position openings are posted at all county work sites. In the Courthouse, openings are posted on the bulletin board next to the Personnel Office which is located on the first floor. Openings are also advertised in county newspapers.
Employment applications and job descriptions for openings must be obtained from and filed with the Personnel Department. Applications are only accepted for posted job vacancies. No resumes are accepted without an accompanying employment application.
Cerro Gordo County requires a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen for all positions. Some positions also require a criminal background check and/or driving record check during the hiring process or prior to beginning employment.
