Mediation is a conflict settlement experience which may be a better way to settle differences than a costly, stressful courtroom situation. During mediation, the parties control the decisions that affect the family, finances, business and life.
A mediator helps people examine their situation in terms of their needs and interests. In order to do this, appropriate information is gathered which may include:
Settlement possibilities are discussed and realistic agreements are developed to help assure everyone's goals are fairly met; especially the children.
The mediators are practicing attorneys, from 2-A Judicial District, who have completed specialized training in the ares of Family Law and Civil Litigation.
The Attorney-Mediator, selected by the parties, is an impartial person who helps people-in-conflict make practical decisions to settle the issues before them.

The parties select the Attorney-Mediator from a list supplied by the Dispute Center. The Attorney-Mediator will be contacted and mediation scheduled by the Dispute Center.
